The Equity & Health Literacy Project (EHLP) is in the early stages of building a community-centered research program aimed at deepening our understanding of health literacy gaps across marginalized populations.

We are currently exploring partnerships with university professors and researchers to support qualitative and participatory research efforts. Our goal is to begin collecting meaningful insights through community surveys, interviews, and focus groups that reflect the real experiences and barriers faced by immigrant, racialized, and low-income communities in navigating the healthcare system.

In the coming months, EHLP will:

  • Launch our first rounds of community surveys to identify pressing health education needs
  • Begin forming academic collaborations to co-design ethical, community-led research projects
  • Use research findings to improve our programming, resource development, and policy advocacy

We believe in research that is by the community and for the community—rooted in lived experience, multilingual accessibility, and a commitment to equity.

Stay tuned as we begin this new chapter, and get in touch if you're a researcher or institution interested in working with us.
